複数の事物について説明する際、「each」か「each one」を使って情報を追加することができます。例えば、動物園で、六頭のライオンを見ているとしましょう。それらのライオンが皆、綺麗な白い牙を持っているということを英語で伝えたい場合は、なんと言えばいいでしょうか。１つの可能性は、二つの文章でそれを説明することです。
There were six lions. Each one had beautiful, white teeth.
この言い方は正しい英語ですが、二つの短い文章に分けるよりは、やはり一つにまとまった文章のほうがいいでしょう。そこで、
There were six lions, each with beautiful, white teeth.
という言い方のほうが好まれます。よく数字を含んだ文章で用いられます。
数字＋名詞＋コンマ+ each/each one
という語順になります。この場合、「each one」と「each」は特に使い方に区別はありませんが、「each one」にはやや個々を強調する響きがあります。
The medicine is given as three doses, each one a week apart.
薬は、１週間間隔で3回服用します。
There are six students in my class, each with an extraordinary knowledge of English.
私のクラスには、素晴らしい英語の知識を持った生徒が六人いる。
さて、ある物の大きさなどの特徴を説明したい時には、「each the」というフレーズをっ使います。
語順は： 数字＋名詞＋コンマ＋each the + 大きさを説明する言葉
There are three trees, each the height of a small house.
家と同じ高さの木が三木あります。
I saw several dinosaurs at the museum, each the size of a bus.
博物館にバスと同じサイズの恐竜が何体かありました。
「each」と「each one」の練習問題
以下の文章を１つの文章として改めて書いてみて下さい。
1. There were four people in the gang. Each one had a different skill.
2. I have two dogs. Each dog is the size of a bear.
3. I have four computers. Each computer has a state of the art graphics card.
4. There are three cats. All of them have long tails.
5. There are twenty painting in the exhibition. Each painting exhibits the artist’s masterful technique.

There were six lions, each with beautiful, white teeth.
はなぜ、beautiful and white teeth. と言わないのでしょうか？
コンマにはどんな意味があるのでしょう。

英語では、二つの形容詞を使う時には、コンマで区切るのは通常です。「and」も使えます。

①上記のeach/each oneの使い方は文語、口語どちらでも同じですか？
②練習問題１について、each gang having a different skillという回答では間違いになりますか？文法的に間違いでなければeach gang with a different skillとは何かニュアンスが変りますか？

Thank you for the interesting comment. You are right about the fourth question. That should have been “a long tail”. Thanks for that!
1. Each is more often used in written English, but it is also used in spoken English too.
2. You could say “each one having a different skill”. That would be fine. You can’t say “each gang” though because there is only one gang. I don’t think there is much difference in meaning between the two.
