紅茶が大好きなイギリスでは、来客には必ずと言って良いほど紅茶を出します。普段はアールグレイ、アッサム、ダージリンなどの紅茶を飲みますが、アメリカ人とは違いレモンティーはそれほど飲みません。しかし、最近は日本の緑茶も人気のようです。

紅茶の種類を尋ねる場合

緑茶はある？

上記の例文のように、イギリス人が「普通のお茶」を意味するregular teaというと、「紅茶」という意味になります。日本で「普通のお茶」と言ったら緑茶ですね。
紅茶に入れる物を尋ねる場合

紅茶に何か入れますか？
Do you take milk with your tea?

紅茶に牛乳を入れますか？

お砂糖を入れますか？
イギリス人は、相手に角砂糖をいくつ入れるか聞く時、How many sugar lumps do you want? より以下のフレーズをよく使います。
One lump or two?
角砂糖は１つそれとも２つ？
The tea will take some time to steep.
紅茶が出るのは少し時間がかかるよ。
少し分かりづらいかもしれませんが、上記は「茶葉やティーバッグをお湯に浸してから抽出時間が少しかかる」という意味です。
頻繁に紅茶を飲んでいると茶渋が問題になってきますね。茶渋は英語でtea stainといいます。

An idiom ” What about..? ” is used just like the same way as ” How about..? “,isn’t it?
1. : whether someone/something is included:
( How about..?)
A: ” We are going to a trip.”
B: ” How about your dogs? ”
A: ” We will take them together.But,they will stay in dog hotel for few days there.”

A: ” This printer includes AC Adapter in the box.”
B: ” How about battery kit for mobile ? ”

2. : make a suggestion about what can be done:
